Whether you own a gun, live with someone who does, or just want to be part of the solution to gun violence, you can make a difference.

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY.

The impact of safe gun storage can stretch far beyond your front door.

GUN OWNERS
A man demonstrates how to use a rifle to a group of adults and children wearing safety glasses at an outdoor shooting range. A gun safety sign is visible in the background.

Every responsible choice counts, and the impact of safe gun storage reaches far beyond our individual homes. Responsible gun ownership means handling guns correctly and storing them securely.

LIVING WITH GUNS
A smiling woman with long curly hair sits next to a teenage boy; her arm is around his shoulder. Both wear black t-shirts and are outdoors, with blurred buildings and people in the background.

By promoting safe storage and open dialogue, we can protect those we care about and foster a culture of personal responsibility. Talking about guns can feel awkward. So get the facts and the resources you need to have open, honest conversations. You might just save someone’s life.

PROFESSIONALS
A police officer in uniform stands with arms crossed and smiles next to a police car, with a building and bright daylight in the background.

Together, we can make a big impact by reducing accidents, understanding how to encourage secure storage and use Extreme Risk Protection Orders when necessary, and creating a safer Colorado for everyone.

WORKING TOGETHER
Colorado state flags hang above a city street lined with historic buildings, restaurants, and shops, with string lights overhead and tall modern buildings in the background on a cloudy day.
There are actions everyone can take to prevent gun violence. Your voice matters. Your involvement can inspire others and foster a shared commitment to responsible gun ownership.

RESOURCES

Let’s lead by example and show the world that Colorado gun owners are committed to safety.

COLORADO STATS

1 in 20 adult Coloradans have a loaded gun stored unlocked in their home. This is a risk factor for not only accidental injury, but also for firearms to be stolen, accessed by children or used in a moment of crisis for the purpose of self-harm. If guns are locked and unloaded, it can prevent violence, suicide, and theft.
